August Favorites!

Well Hello! I haven’t posted a new blog all summer! I’ve had the busiest summer! I GOT MARRIED! Planning a wedding sucked up 99% of my summer, but it was so worth it!

Since it’s the beginning of the month, and i haven’t posted a blog in forever, I thought I would fill you in with what I’ve been loving lately!

photo 1

The first thing I bought early in the month and haven’t stopped using it, is the NARS lipgloss in Stolen Kisses. O.M.G. This lipgloss is so pretty! NARS recently changed their formula, so their lipgloss’s are now creamy, not sticky, and opaque. This is also a great color for that “Kylie Jenner” lip trend that has been going around lately.

Another lip product i have been loving that also falls into the “Kylie Jenner” lip trend is the Essence Long Lasting LIpstick in 06 Barely There. This is a really long lasting lipstick for a $3 lipstick! It’s creamy and moisturizing, and is the perfect “Kylie Jenner” lip shade.

I have been using the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation. I believe this is about $6-$7 at the drugstore and is just fabulous! It’s long lasting, and has pretty good coverage for not being too heavy.

photo 3

I’ve been pairing Maybelline Fit Me concealer with the Covergirl foundation. The Fit Me concealer is a fairly sheer concealer but it gives the most flawless effect and covers up my dark circles pretty well!

For setting the Fit Me concealer I’ve been using the Essence All About Matt! powder. Don’t be alarmed by the fact that it’s white! It’s completely sheer and sets my concealer so well! It doesn’t budge at all during the day, and it’s even nice to swipe over your t-zone midday. You can find Essence at Ulta, in the drugstore section!

My last makeup favorite is a bronzer that I have had for a while now! It’s the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium 2. This is just a matte bronzer that’s great for contouring and overall bronzing. I’ve had this for months now and I just hit pan this month! It’s really long lasting, and looks very natural.

For skincare I just have two favorites!

I’ve been removing my makeup with the Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil. You simply just pump a few pumps in your (dry) hands, and gently rub away your eye makeup. The dry oil on the dry skin just dissolves all my eye makeup! My favorite part is that it only takes about 20 seconds for all my eye makeup to come off! And for those of you who know me personally, you know I like to wear a lot of mascara! 🙂

After I have taken off all my eye makeup I have been using the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. I have heard a couple things about this face cleanser and I was really interested to try it out for myself! It takes off my makeup very gently, but effectively! After using this face cleanser and my Clarisonic I don’t have a bit of makeup left on my face!

So, those were all my favorites for the month of August! Let me know what your favorites of the month are!

Single-shadow eye looks!

Lately I have been really into simple and fresh make-up! I think these types of looks are perfect for spring and you can really dress them up or dress them down. One of my favorite things to do right now is just use one shadow all over the lid and really work with the shadow to create a nice defined eye look.
I have a few favorite single eye shadows that I really like working with to create these types of looks.

MAC Woodwinked is my absolute favorite to wear on its own. I really like to pack the shade onto my lid and lightly blend it into the crease and it just gives the prettiest effect when it is blended out.

Image
The single shadow I have been reaching out for a lot is the L’Oreal Bronze Taupe. I do the same technique with this shadow as Woodwinked, I pack it onto the lid and then blend out the crease so it gives some definition to my eyes.

Image
Another L’Oreal eye shadow that I love to use L’Oreal Iced Latte. I use this shadow a bit differently, I use a fluffy brush and blend it all over my lid. I don’t work this one into my lid because it wouldn’t define my eye very well. I blend this all over and like to use a brown gel eyeliner on my top lashes to define my eyes that way!

Image

If I have a bit of time, I like to use Jordana Sand Dune eye shadow. I like to use this wet because it kind of sucks dry! Dry, it is very chalky, and a little hard to work with. But when you use it wet, it packs on to the lid nicely, there’s not a ton of fall out and it is very opaque. I pack this shade, wet, onto the lid and very subtlety blend out the edges a bit, just so there aren’t any harsh lines.

Image
I really like using the NYX pigments all over the lid also! Of course all loose pigments can get pretty messy at times, but I love the effect and sheen they give off! My favorites are pearl, white pearl, and mocha.

ImageImageImage

The last single eye shadow I really love using all over the lid is MAC Satin Taupe. Satin Taupe is one of those classic shades that never goes out of style. You can wear it all over the lid, you can wear it in your crease, you can do everything with this shadow!

This season try out a single eye shadow to really define your eyes and create a fresh spring look! If you have any other single eye shadows that you like to use, let me know!

Hair products you NEED in your life!

Over the past year I have been trying really hard to keep my hair pretty healthy! I haven’t been coloring it as often, I get my ends trimmed, and I have been investing in some pretty nice hair products to keep my hair soft and healthy!

I have really tangled, knotty, hair so the Tangle Teezer really saves my life! You can use this brush on wet or dry hair. It doesn’t pull my hair out and easily combs through the tangles. I bought mine at Sally’s Beauty Supply for about $12, which is a little pricy for a hairbrush, but it’s really worth it to me because it doesn’t pull my hair out!

Image

After my hair is all brushed out I ALWAYS use my It’s a 10 Leave in Conditioner. I love this product because it’s so many different products in one. It’s a detangler, a leave in conditioner, heat protector, etc. It’s super quick to use and I don’t have to put any kind of oil or anything else in my hair when I use this.

Image

When I start to style my hair I always use my Babyliss Ceramics Xtreme blow dryer and Babyliss Nano Technology flat iron. The blow dryer gets pretty hot and it dry’s my hair so fast! I can totally notice a difference when I use my Babyliss dryer, vs a cheap dryer! The Babyliss flat iron makes my hair really sleek and shiny. It gets pretty hot so if you have thick curly hair it’ll give you that really sleek look to your hair as well. I bought both of these items on Amazon Prime so they were really affordable!

ImageImage

Before I use my heat styling tools, I always use the Tresemme Heat Protectant. This is such a cheap but effective product. Just spray it in your hair 2-3 minutes before you apply heat and it’ll really protect your hair and keep it from frying!

Image

When I’m in between washes, I am pretty religious to my Batiste Dry Shampoo Hint of Color for Dark and Deep Brown Hair. This is just the best dry shampoo. I try out a lot of dry shampoos just to see if anything compares and nothing does! This is the only dry shampoo that doesn’t leave a white cast in my hair and make it look grey because it’s tinted for brunettes! You can buy this at Ulta, CVS, or Walgreens! Batiste leaves my hair looking and feeling really clean and refreshed! My tip for dry shampoo is, put it in your hair the night before so it can really absorb the oils and your hair will feel so clean and not gross when you wake up in the morning!

Image

I ALWAYS sleep with a scrunchie in my hair! Haha. Yes, you can still find scrunchie’s if you look hard enough! J I found mine at Target, so I can be done! I love sleeping with a scrunchie in my hair because it doesn’t pull or nag at my hair and doesn’t leave a huge crease in my hair when I wake up.

Image

Some other random products that I always use are:

Sebastian Zero Gravity hairspray. This hairspray has a really flexible hold, so your hair isn’t crunchy or gross. BUT! If you like really traditional hairspray you probably won’t like this one because it’s very flexible.

Image

NUME Curling Wands. I LOVE curling my hair with curling wands and these are the absolute best curling wands I have ever found! They are expensive, but if you hunt for a coupon you can definitely get them for a fairly low price! They get really hot, and hold a curl really nicely all day.

Image

I really like to keep my hair routine quick and low maintenance and all these products really help me out! You can find all these products on Amazon, Ulta, Walgreens, Target, and the Nume Website! Try some out if you’re interested! I know you’ll love them! J

February Favorites!

Even though everyone always says that February goes by so fast, I thought this month went by pretty slow! This month was filled with ice days, traveling, newborn babies, and a newborn calf! This month I also fell in love with a couple new products and fell back in love with some old ones!

My first favorite is a new eye cream that I started using at the beginning of the month. It’s the Dermalogica Total Eye Cream. This eye cream is really hydrating, and I like to use to night and day. I have really dry under eyes and this eye cream really controls that. It also has SPF 15 which is always good!

Image

I have fallen in love with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb, and Rosewater. This stuff is so cheap and so effective! IT’s only $7! (you can find it at Ulta). I like to spray this before and after I apply moisturizer day and night. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin while using this twice a day. It has really improved the texture of my skin and overall, my skin just looks even and nice! You can also use this as a setting spray for your make-up!

Image

Another new product I discovered this month was the new RImmel London Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tint in the shade 001 Pop of Pink. This is a really beautiful pink shade that really gives you a healthy dewy finish on the cheeks. I like to apply this using the ELF stippling brush. This cream blush is super cheap and it lasts all day! I like wearing this best when I’m wearing a powder foundation, and powder bronzer. The cream blush gives you a natural dewy flush.

Image

I had another blush favorite this month! It’s MAC Whole Lotta Love. This is a really bright, matte pink blush and it looks so good over the Rimmel cream blush for extra long staying power! When I wear this on it’s own it’s a very long wearing pink flush that would look great on any skin tone!

Image

I have become OBSESSED with lip balms this month! I have two favorite lip balms that are pretty much the same is the Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Soothing Sorbet and just the regular clear shade! I like to wear the pink shade throughout the day, and the clear one at night! I wake up with the softest lips when I do this! The pink one is such a sheer shade that it gives you the most flattering tint to your lips!

ImageImage

If you want to spend a little more money, the Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is fabulous! It’s so hydrating your lips will be so soft after just one use!

I hope you go out and try some of my beauty favorites! I know you will love at least one thing I’m talking about! 🙂

REVIEW! L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher

I posted on Instagram a couple weeks ago that I was trying out the new L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher and would keep y’all posted on my thoughts and I have finally came to a conclusion about this product! It has been compared to the Benefit POREfessional, which is a very popular pore minimizing primer! I think it has similar qualities to the POREfessional but not exactly the same. I have such a love hate relationship with this product but I know I will continue to use it. Okay, so lets get to the pros!

Image

Pros: It really does what it says! It really blurs the look of pores and makes your skin look flawless! You put this on as a primer under your foundation and it really fills in your pores, and evens out your skin tone. It has a cooling and hydrating texture too it, and I love that it is a beige color!  It’s a pretty decent size bottle and you only need a tiny bit so you get a lot out of the product for the price! Being a drugstore product, it’s easily accessible!

 Image

Cons: It says that it is oil-free, but doesn’t claim to keep you shine-free, so I get really oily midday using this product. But if you have dry to normal skin it will be fine for you!

Overall, I love the way this product makes my skin look! But I hate that it makes me shiny! I have been using an oil controlling primer, and then the Pore Vanisher over it, and then continue with my foundation routine, but it’s a lot of steps!

The Pore Vanisher is $20 for a 1.4 FL OZ bottle and the Benefit POREfessional is $30 for .75 FL OZ! So you’re getting a lot more product in the Pore Vanisher for cheaper also. Like I said before, these products are not exact dupes, but they’re very similar!

Have fun!

xoxo Audrey

My all-time favorite mascara’s!

Mascara is one of my favorite things to try when it comes to beauty products! I have tried TONS of mascaras and I have figured out what I like and what I don’t like. I’ll be sharing with you five of my absolute favorite mascara’s that I always go back to!

5. MAKE-UP FOREVER Smoky Lash Mascara

This mascara is a fairly dry formula, so you can either have a natural lash, or build it for a pretty dramatic lash with this product. I really love this mascara because all you need is a few coats to really achieve a great looking lash. This mascara is a volumizing mascara, but will hold a curl very well if you  use an eyelash curler.

4. Lancome Hypnose Mascara

I feel like this mascara is constantly hyped up, but for a very good reason! This mascara is such an all in one mascara. It volumizes, and lengthens in just a couple coats, and isn’t too difficult to take off!

3. Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

This mascara is so cheap, and gets the job done so well when it comes to mascara. Is is a fairly wet formula, so it takes a couple days to dry up a little bit and really gives you the effect you want. It takes me a few coats to get the lashes that I like with this mascara, but the effect it gives is so worth it!

2. L’Oreal Shocking Extensions Mascara

The Shocking Extensions mascara is one of those make-up items that I cannot live without. It makes my lashes so long with just a couple coats. It holds a curl all day, and is easy to wash off!

1. L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

This is seriously the best mascara that I have ever used. I think I started using this mascara when I was about 14! It gives you the most voluminous, and thick lashes in just a couple coats. It feels like a high-end mascara, and gives better results than some of my expensive mascaras. This mascara really reminds me of the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, it’s a pretty good dupe! L’Oreal Voluminous is always in my make-up bag!

I hope you found this helpful, and encourage you to try out some new mascaras if you haven’t tried any of these out before!
