Yay for Babies! and Baby Beauty Products!

Hello all!

2015 is here! We have 360 days to make changes, improvements, or not do anything at all! I always find it so weird that people wait an entire year to make a change! ha.. oh well! 🙂

Anyways! 2015 is going to be a HUGE year for my husband and I because we’re having a baby! I’m due July 2015 and currently 14 weeks pregnant!

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I had to make a change in my beauty routine skincare wise!

First off, my regular body lotion WAS NOT cutting it for me anymore! My skin is so dry, tight, and itchy all the time I need to use the thickest body lotion I can find! I’ve been using a variety of different body butters for whatever mood I’m in, and how dry my skin is!

My go to is usually the Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Butter. bodybutter

This is such a great daytime moisturizer for me right now. This sinks into my skin quickly so it doesn’t smear all over my clothes, it keeps me moisturized all day, and it smells so good! I don’t think I have ever bought one of these full price, BBW always has a sale or a coupon so keep your eyes peeled! 🙂

Before I go to bed I like to use an oil based balm that is much thicker than a regular body butter. I got the Biggs and Featherbelle Belly Balm for Christmas and I have not stopped using it since! big-bell-2

It’s very thick and exactly what it says it is, a balm! It’s so hydrating and just feels so good to use after I get out of the shower and about to hop into bed! It doesn’t transfer onto my sheets or anything and doesn’t leave me feeling like a grease ball! I never feel itchy after using this and I don’t even feel the need to put any moisturizer on in the morning (but i still do!).

I carry around the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks around in my purse!

stretchmarks

I like to keep this with me if my skin feels extra dry while I’m running errands or at work! This is just an easy body cream. I like this rather than the regular lotion because it’s a bit thicker and you have more control over how much product you use.

I got a gift set of the Mama Mio skin care favorites for Christmas. I haven’t tried everything in the kit yet, but I have tried the Mama Mio Glamorous Glow Facial Wash. mamamio

I love this stuff! It seriously leaves your skin glowing! I use this with my Clarisonic and it’s been a dream for my skin! I haven’t broken out at all since using this cleanser. I use this after all my makeup is off that way it can really reach into my pores and I can get a deep clean out of it!

These are the products I have been loving so far! I’m sure my routine will change once I get bigger! My biggest advice to you if you are pregnant is to moisturize your skin! If you don’t want stretch marks or really want to cut down on the stretch marks, you need to moisturize your skin properly!

What products did you use when you were pregnant?! I would love to hear about some of them!

REVIEW! Maybelline the Nudes Pallet

This pallet has been out for a while now, but I finally got my hands on it! Maybelline has released a “proper” eyeshadow pallet. I would describe it as a cross between Urban Decay’s Naked pallet and the first Lorac Pro Pallet.

There are 12 shadows, 8 shimmers, and 4 matte shades, which retails for $10. When I first swatched them, I wasn’t super impressed. They didn’t seem very pigmented to me, and the texture was a little weird. I have been using this for a few days now and I think I have an overall understanding of this product.

The first time I used this pallet I didn’t use an eyeshadow primer, just to check out the longevity. To my surprise, it actually held up pretty well! There was minimal creasing, but it held up for over 12 hours! I have tried it with an eyeshadow primer also and it lasts just as long but without the creasing! 🙂

I recommend using these shadows with a primer. Something like, Maybelline Color Tattoo’s in Bold Gold, or Bad to the Bronze. Another great primer that worked well with this product was the MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist. Using this pallet with these primers really brings out the bronzy, gold hue that this pallet gives off!

Overall, if you’re looking for an inexpensive, drugstore neutral pallet, I would check this one out! I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed, but it surprised me! I found mine for $10 at Target!

Have you tried this? Let me know what you think! 🙂

Single-shadow eye looks!

Lately I have been really into simple and fresh make-up! I think these types of looks are perfect for spring and you can really dress them up or dress them down. One of my favorite things to do right now is just use one shadow all over the lid and really work with the shadow to create a nice defined eye look.
I have a few favorite single eye shadows that I really like working with to create these types of looks.

MAC Woodwinked is my absolute favorite to wear on its own. I really like to pack the shade onto my lid and lightly blend it into the crease and it just gives the prettiest effect when it is blended out.

Image
The single shadow I have been reaching out for a lot is the L’Oreal Bronze Taupe. I do the same technique with this shadow as Woodwinked, I pack it onto the lid and then blend out the crease so it gives some definition to my eyes.

Image
Another L’Oreal eye shadow that I love to use L’Oreal Iced Latte. I use this shadow a bit differently, I use a fluffy brush and blend it all over my lid. I don’t work this one into my lid because it wouldn’t define my eye very well. I blend this all over and like to use a brown gel eyeliner on my top lashes to define my eyes that way!

Image

If I have a bit of time, I like to use Jordana Sand Dune eye shadow. I like to use this wet because it kind of sucks dry! Dry, it is very chalky, and a little hard to work with. But when you use it wet, it packs on to the lid nicely, there’s not a ton of fall out and it is very opaque. I pack this shade, wet, onto the lid and very subtlety blend out the edges a bit, just so there aren’t any harsh lines.

Image
I really like using the NYX pigments all over the lid also! Of course all loose pigments can get pretty messy at times, but I love the effect and sheen they give off! My favorites are pearl, white pearl, and mocha.

The last single eye shadow I really love using all over the lid is MAC Satin Taupe. Satin Taupe is one of those classic shades that never goes out of style. You can wear it all over the lid, you can wear it in your crease, you can do everything with this shadow!

This season try out a single eye shadow to really define your eyes and create a fresh spring look! If you have any other single eye shadows that you like to use, let me know!

REVIEW! L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher

I posted on Instagram a couple weeks ago that I was trying out the new L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher and would keep y’all posted on my thoughts and I have finally came to a conclusion about this product! It has been compared to the Benefit POREfessional, which is a very popular pore minimizing primer! I think it has similar qualities to the POREfessional but not exactly the same. I have such a love hate relationship with this product but I know I will continue to use it. Okay, so lets get to the pros!

Image

Pros: It really does what it says! It really blurs the look of pores and makes your skin look flawless! You put this on as a primer under your foundation and it really fills in your pores, and evens out your skin tone. It has a cooling and hydrating texture too it, and I love that it is a beige color!  It’s a pretty decent size bottle and you only need a tiny bit so you get a lot out of the product for the price! Being a drugstore product, it’s easily accessible!

 Image

Cons: It says that it is oil-free, but doesn’t claim to keep you shine-free, so I get really oily midday using this product. But if you have dry to normal skin it will be fine for you!

Overall, I love the way this product makes my skin look! But I hate that it makes me shiny! I have been using an oil controlling primer, and then the Pore Vanisher over it, and then continue with my foundation routine, but it’s a lot of steps!

The Pore Vanisher is $20 for a 1.4 FL OZ bottle and the Benefit POREfessional is $30 for .75 FL OZ! So you’re getting a lot more product in the Pore Vanisher for cheaper also. Like I said before, these products are not exact dupes, but they’re very similar!

Have fun!

My all-time favorite mascara’s!

Mascara is one of my favorite things to try when it comes to beauty products! I have tried TONS of mascaras and I have figured out what I like and what I don’t like. I’ll be sharing with you five of my absolute favorite mascara’s that I always go back to!

5. MAKE-UP FOREVER Smoky Lash Mascara

This mascara is a fairly dry formula, so you can either have a natural lash, or build it for a pretty dramatic lash with this product. I really love this mascara because all you need is a few coats to really achieve a great looking lash. This mascara is a volumizing mascara, but will hold a curl very well if you  use an eyelash curler.

4. Lancome Hypnose Mascara

I feel like this mascara is constantly hyped up, but for a very good reason! This mascara is such an all in one mascara. It volumizes, and lengthens in just a couple coats, and isn’t too difficult to take off!

3. Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

This mascara is so cheap, and gets the job done so well when it comes to mascara. Is is a fairly wet formula, so it takes a couple days to dry up a little bit and really gives you the effect you want. It takes me a few coats to get the lashes that I like with this mascara, but the effect it gives is so worth it!

2. L’Oreal Shocking Extensions Mascara

The Shocking Extensions mascara is one of those make-up items that I cannot live without. It makes my lashes so long with just a couple coats. It holds a curl all day, and is easy to wash off!

1. L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

This is seriously the best mascara that I have ever used. I think I started using this mascara when I was about 14! It gives you the most voluminous, and thick lashes in just a couple coats. It feels like a high-end mascara, and gives better results than some of my expensive mascaras. This mascara really reminds me of the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, it’s a pretty good dupe! L’Oreal Voluminous is always in my make-up bag!

I hope you found this helpful, and encourage you to try out some new mascaras if you haven’t tried any of these out before!

My all-time favorite lipsticks!

I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m a huge mascara junkie! But after mascara, I think I’m a pretty huge lipstick junkie! I just think lipstick is one of those things that you can’t have too many of. These are my five favorite lipsticks ever!

5. Revlon Pink Sugar

Pink Sugar is a really nice mix between a nude and a pink. It’s pretty shimmery, so I usually wear it on its own, rather than with a gloss, but you can do whatever you want!

4. Milani Flirty Fuchsia

I love a hot pink lip, and Flirty Fuchsia is by far my favorite pink in my collection! It’s really bright, but yet blue toned so it makes your teeth look whiter! I think this is a pink that any skin tone can pull off.

3. MAC Rebel

I guess I should let you know now, I LOVE bold lips. Rebel is the perfect mix of a dark, yet bright lipstick. It’s a dark plumy-pinky color that I love to whip out when the weather cools down.

2. Milani Dulce Caramelo

This is the most perfect nude shade. It’s pretty much a “my lips but better” color but with a hint of gold shimmer!

1. MAC Ruby Woo

Ruby Woo is by far my favorite lipstick of all time! It’s such a beautiful red color that is so flattering on everyone. It’s a blue toned red, so it’ll make your teeth look white also! But it’s also matte, which is how I like to wear my bold lipsticks!

Just a tip! If you ever want to make your lipstick matte, or more matte just use some powder over your lips or the same shade eyeshadow on your lips. For example if you are wearing a creamy red lip, if you have a red eyeshadow, or cranberry eyeshadow around simply press it onto your lips and it will give your lipstick more dimension and matte! If you don’t have a matching eyeshadow, just use a translucent powder or simply your face powder onto your lips!

If you’re scared of bold lips, hopefully you’ll try these because they honestly look so good on everyone! Have fun!

January Favorites!

In January I had the opportunity to try a lot of new products! Some I loved, some I didn’t but I’m just going to share with you the products that were my favorite this month!

My first most absolute favorite of the month was the Lorac Pro Pallet. This pallet has gotten a lot of hype and I was a little skeptical of it because it’s a fairly basic pallet. But I started using this at the end of December and I have not put it down! It’s so easy to get a really natural look or a very dramatic look. It’s also very easy to transition from day to night with this pallet! You can get thisat Ulta for $42.

loracpropallet

My favorite nude lip combo of the month was most definitely Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipstick in Pink Cognito and Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Super Natural. This is the most perfect pinky-nude lip combo without being too pink, or too nude (if that makes any sense!). And it’s from the drugstore so it’s cheap!

I got pretty into skincare this month, and one of my favorite skincare products was Lush’s Breath of Fresh Air toner. I wash my face, and then I spray this all over and it’s such a refreshing, relaxing toner that really helps your skin with breakouts and creates a continuous glow. You can get this at Lush for about $10.

I have been dying to try the Nume curling wands for so long, and finally this month I got the Lustrum Curling Iron, which is a curling wand that come with 5 attachments. I have been loving the curl that the 32mm wand gives me. It leaves your hair with such beachy, wavy hair that will actually hold all day!

numelustrumnume32mm

My last favorite is also a hair care product! It’s the new L’Oreal Volume Filler line, which includes the shampoo, conditioner, the serum, and the mousse. I have fine, long hair and I’m not even joking, this made my hair look and feel so thick! It gives me crazy volume and my hair actually feels thicker after shampooing it! If you have fine, thin hair, I HIGHLY suggest this line!

lorealvolumefillerlorealvolumeinjectmousse

Those were all my favorites! I didn’t have very many, but I have been pretty loyal to all these products!

Have fun!
