This pallet has been out for a while now, but I finally got my hands on it! Maybelline has released a “proper” eyeshadow pallet. I would describe it as a cross between Urban Decay’s Naked pallet and the first Lorac Pro Pallet.
There are 12 shadows, 8 shimmers, and 4 matte shades, which retails for $10. When I first swatched them, I wasn’t super impressed. They didn’t seem very pigmented to me, and the texture was a little weird. I have been using this for a few days now and I think I have an overall understanding of this product.
The first time I used this pallet I didn’t use an eyeshadow primer, just to check out the longevity. To my surprise, it actually held up pretty well! There was minimal creasing, but it held up for over 12 hours! I have tried it with an eyeshadow primer also and it lasts just as long but without the creasing! 🙂
I recommend using these shadows with a primer. Something like, Maybelline Color Tattoo’s in Bold Gold, or Bad to the Bronze. Another great primer that worked well with this product was the MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist. Using this pallet with these primers really brings out the bronzy, gold hue that this pallet gives off!
Overall, if you’re looking for an inexpensive, drugstore neutral pallet, I would check this one out! I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed, but it surprised me! I found mine for $10 at Target!
Have you tried this? Let me know what you think! 🙂
